Having a Marketing opt-in is an important part of GDPR. In order to be responsible with your customer data, add a custom checkout question, so customers can let you know if they would like to hear more from you about further events, become part of your mailing list, etc.
1. In your Universe event, click Checkout Questions > Add a Question.
2. Select either the Dropdown or Checkboxes format.
3. In the free text field under “Label Title”, add your opt in text. Next, double click the field next to each tickbox under the title “Options” - this is where you add in your YES and NO text.
Finally, toggle “required” and “only collect once per order” into the ON position.
Here is some example text which can be used for opt-in purposes:
- I want *ORGANIZATION NAME HERE* to keep me updated about additional events and news by electronic means (e.g. email, SMS, etc.).
- Once your details have been provided to an Event Partner, your subscriptions can be managed directly with them.
4. Don’t forget to click SAVE. All of the opt in responses will be available in your event’s Order's report.
