By default, all tickets sold through Universe are emailed to the fan with a digital QR code for scanning in at the door. For event hosts who prefer to issue physical tickets, we now support self-serve ticket printing through the Universe platform.
This new feature gives event hosts the ability to select a specific, existing order that they wish to print tickets for, or generate a new order for printing through our ‘Add an Order’ page.
Event hosts can use a Boca printer (installation guides can be found at the end of this article) with thermal ticket stock to print individual tickets, or can also use a standard computer printer using standard A4 printing paper. If no printer is configured, you may also use this feature to save tickets as PDFs.

How to print an existing order
- Navigate to your event.
- Under your Event Manager, select the Orders & Attendees tab.
- Under the Orders tab, navigate to the order you wish to print. From there, select the ellipses to open the additional options menu, and select the Print order option.
- Upon selecting the Print order option, a new tab will open with all the tickets in the order ready to print. Once your printer settings are configured to your liking, please proceed and print the order.
Note: Ideal printing specifications = 5.5” x 2”
How to print a new order created through the ‘Add an Order’ page
- Navigate to your event
- Under your Event Manager, select the Orders & Attendees tab
- From the Orders tab, click the Add an order button

- Input your order details (if timed entry, select your date and timeslot, select your ticket type(s) and ticket quantity and input your buyer/ticket information).
- Once your order information has been entered, click the Checkout button found below the order summary on the right side of the page.
- Upon clicking the Checkout button, you will be presented with an Order Confirmation modal. If you would like to print the tickets from this order, select the Done & Print option:
- Upon selecting the Done & Print option, a new tab will open with all the tickets in the order ready to print. Once your printer settings are configured to your liking, please proceed and print the order.

Mobile printing
Please note that if you are attempting to use this feature on mobile or on a tablet, you will be prompted to use the BoxOffice app. We currently support the use of Boca and Star printers with BoxOffice on iOS only. Please read the following for more information:

How to customize your printed tickets
- Navigate to your event
- Under your Event Manager, select the Orders & Attendees tab
- Click into the More tab (located beside the Add an Order button) and select Edit Printed Tickets
- Here you can edit the following information:
- Event organizer
- Supporting text
- Event name
- Additional text 1
- Additional text 2
Note: the additional text fields are empty by default, but here you can add additional details (i.e., ‘IDs will be checked at the door’ or anything else that makes sense for your event).
Note: the only required text field is the Event Name. If you choose to do so, you can remove the Event Organizer, Supporting Text, and Additional Text fields.
- Once you are done editing, select Complete and continue. Please note that you will be able to preview any edits you make with the ticket preview window on the right side of the modal.
